Meet Your Team
Why Neighbors Run the Show
At Harrisburg Shopping, our Founder believed that the best people to solve a neighborhood’s challenges are the people who live in it. He didn't want a board of directors who look at Harrisburg as a set of data points on a map; he wanted a team that looks at Harrisburg and sees their own streets, their own local shops, and their own neighbors.
Shared Experience Matters
When our team makes a decision, they aren’t thinking about corporate growth—they are thinking about Miss Edna. Because our team lives here, they understand the "small things" that a big company would miss. They know that a delivery isn't just a package; it’s a knock on the door that says, "We haven't forgotten you."
The "Grocery Store" Standard
Our Founder chose everyday people—teachers, retirees, artisans, and tech students—because of the "Grocery Store" standard. He wanted our leaders to be people you recognize while you're out running errands. If you have an idea or a concern, you shouldn't have to navigate a phone tree; you should be able to talk to us like the neighbors we are.
Trust is Built, Not Bought
Trust isn’t something you can manufacture in an office. It’s built over years of living in the same community. By having a team of "ordinary" people, we ensure that the organization stays humble and focused. We aren't here to build an empire; we are here to keep the lights on for the person next door.
The Real Leaders: Our Class A Members (That’s You!)
While our Board acts as the "Stewards" of the platform, they do not own it. At Harrisburg Shopping, the community of Harrisburg, PA is in charge. We are a membership-based utility. This means the 500,000+ residents of the Harrisburg area aren't just "users"—they are the highest authority in our organization. When neighbors come together to look out for one another, the results are more powerful than any corporation.
Your Seat at the Table
By simply registering your account, you are legally joining the Class A Membership of Harrisburg Shopping. This isn't just a login; it’s a "key" to the organization. As a Class A Member, you hold the legal right to:
Propose New Rules and Ideas: Think we should add or remove something? Speak your mind and add it to the "Public Ledger of Ideas" and the community will vote on it!
Direct Our Priorities: Every year, the community votes on which service programs should be our first priority.
Protect the Mission: You act as a final check and balance to ensure the Trust always remains a "Public Utility for Kindness."
A Community-Owned Future
We believe that technology works best when it is owned by the people who use it. You don't need a fancy degree to have a say here. You just need to be a neighbor who cares about Harrisburg.
Thank you for claiming your seat, casting your vote, and helping us ensure that none of our homebound neighbors are left in the dark.
The Operating Team (Harrisburg Shopping)
These neighbors manage the day-to-day "plumbing" of the utility, ensuring local vendors are supported and deliveries are moving safely.
The Chief Executive Officer (Key A)
Name: Gregory Keck
Bio: A lifelong Harrisburg resident, Greg ensures our mission stays focused on our "Honored Guests." You might see him zipping around Harrisburg doing homebound deliveries in his yellow Volkswagen beetle covered in peace stickers or hanging out at the Midtown Scholar or the Broad Street Market. He serves to ensure that every delivery reflects the "Edna Standard" of kindness. Greg is one of the most easily approached people in the world and he wants to hear your feedback—good or bad—about Harrisburg Shopping! If you see him, talk to him!
The Chief Financial Officer (Key B)
Name: Ronald Hiester IV
Bio: When he's not working at the family-owned Harrisburg institution, Superior Stores (serving the community for 94 years!), Ron is ensuring the Harrisburg Shopping Emergency Fund is never empty and help goes immediately to where it's needed. He manages the 14% commission to ensure it goes directly back into serving the homebound. He believes in "radical transparency"—meaning you can see exactly where every cent goes.
The Corporate Secretary (Key C)
Name: (Private for security reasons)
Bio: The keeper of the "Public Ledger of Ideas" ensures that when a member of the community submits a proposal, it is heard, documented, and responded to. This person is the voice and advocate for 500,000+ residents of the Harrisburg, PA area. Our secretary's name is private due to security reasons (harassment, stalking, threats). Some people believe that by harassing her, she will approve their idea. No one single person can approve any idea or suggestion on Harrisburg Shopping. Only your community can.
Notice: All communications sent to the Corporate Secretary are logged as part of the Public Ledger. Threats or harassment directed toward our team are shared with local law enforcement and result in an immediate and permanent ban from the Harrisburg Shopping platform. We protect our neighbors; we also protect those who serve them.
The Oversight Team: Harrisburg Cares Trust
The Trust acts as our "Silent Guardian." They do not manage the daily shop; instead, they serve as the ultimate check and balance. They hold the power to intervene if the mission ever strays from its core values.
The Shield of Anonymity: Protecting the Keys
You will notice that the names and photos of our Harrisburg Cares Trustees (Keys D, E, and F) are not listed publicly. While our Operating Team is visible and accessible, our Oversight Team remains anonymous for the safety of the utility and its members (That's You!).
Why We Protect Their Identities
Preventing Coercion: These three individuals hold the "Oversight Keys" to the community’s capital. By keeping their identities private, we ensure that no outside force can pressure or threaten a Trustee into unlocking the vault.
Neutrality: Anonymity ensures these positions cannot be used for social climbing or political leverage. Our Trustees serve the mission, not a personal brand.
The "Six-Key" Security: Because our Bylaws require these individuals to meet in person with physical ID to move funds, their anonymity acts as a digital firewall. You cannot steal what you cannot find.

How We Maintain Ethical Accountability
Anonymity is not a lack of oversight; it is a high-security feature. To ensure transparency, we maintain the following "Check-and-Balance" protocols:
The Annual Third-Party Audit: Every year, a disinterested third party (such as a local law firm or CPA) verifies that all three Trustee seats are occupied by qualified, non-political residents who meet our strict Bylaws.
The Sovereign Neutrality Affidavit: Each anonymous Trustee has a signed, notarized affidavit on file with our legal counsel, swearing they have no political affiliations or conflicts of interest.
The "Nuclear" Activation: If the visible Operating Team ever fails in its duty, the Anonymous Trustees are legally empowered to step forward publicly to the Court of Common Pleas to protect the community’s assets and restore the mission.
Our Community Advisors
Beyond our voting board, we rely on the specialized hearts and minds of local neighbors to keep the utility running smoothly.
1. The "Edna Standard" Accessibility Advisor
Role: Ensures the website remains easy to use for those with tremors, visual impairment, or limited tech experience.
"As a retired teacher and a grandmother, I make sure Harrisburg Shopping stays simple. If I can't navigate it with a shaky hand or without my reading glasses, it isn't ready for our neighbors, and I won't approve it."
2. The Neighborhood Logistics Advisor
Role: Helps coordinate the most efficient routes for our volunteer Field Stewards to ensure medications stay cold and groceries stay fresh.
"I’ve spent twenty years driving delivery in the streets of Harrisburg. I help our volunteers find the best ways to get from the Farmers Market to our homebound neighbors without getting stuck in Market Street traffic."
3. The Local Merchant Liaison
Role: Acts as the voice for our small businesses, makers, and artisans to ensure the 14% commission is working for them.
"I know what it’s like to balance the books of a small shop. I’m here to make sure Harrisburg Shopping remains the best partner a local vendor can have."
4. The Privacy & "Zero-Trace" Steward
Role: Audits our data destruction protocols to ensure all homebound status paperwork is destroyed within the hour.
"Your privacy is sacred. I monitor our 'Zero-Trace' protocol to ensure that once a neighbor is verified, their sensitive data disappears forever. We leave no footprints."
5. The "Silent Janitor" Code Apprentice
Role: Works alongside the Founder to maintain the "digital plumbing" and ensure the website never goes offline.
"I’m a local tech student helping keep the lights on. I don't care about fancy features; I care about making sure the checkout button works every single time."
6. The Senior Care Advocate
Role: Bridges the gap between the website and local nursing homes or assisted living facilities.
"I spend my days in care facilities. I advise the board on what our homebound neighbors actually need—whether it’s a specific type of medical supply or just a fresh pair of slippers."
7. The "Flea & Maker" Quality Guide
Role: Helps define "Artisan Status" and ensures the Free & Flea market remains a place of value and treasures.
"I love the hunt for a great vintage find. I help our 'silent shoppers' evaluate local goods so that our customers always receive quality items they can be proud of."
Our Founder
You won't find any information about our founder here; he prefers to remain anonymous. He is simply the programmer who mops the digital floors so the community can run the mall.
Why Your Team is Different
No Politicians: We have a "Hard Firewall." No current or former politicians are allowed to serve as Stewards. This belongs to the neighborhood, not the government.
Unpaid Service: Our Board members are volunteers. We don't work for a paycheck; we work for the neighbor who needs a lightbulb changed or a prescription delivered.
You Are the Final Member: Because we are a Membership Organization, you hold the keys. When you register, you are a Class A Member with the legal right to vote on the budget and the rules. We don't just work for the community; we are the community.
The Future is Neighbor Owned
Harrisburg Shopping is not just a marketplace; it is a living promise made to every person who calls this city home. By removing the profit motive and the political ladder, we have cleared the way for something far more durable: genuine human connection. We are a digital utility with a physical soul—built by the homebound, governed by the neighborhood, and protected by the law. Whether you are a vendor sharing your craft, a volunteer delivering a lifeline, or a neighbor casting your vote on our budget, you are the reason the "Edna Standard" exists. Together, we are proving that when technology is placed in the hands of the people who use it, we don't just build a better app—we build a stronger, kinder, and more resilient Harrisburg.
